Warmth

To say she was draw to all forms of fire was a correct assumption, she loved it in all forms weather it be man made, Magically induced or from the belle of a beast. Her senses were telling her she was close to a grate sauce of heat and cold but no element really bothered her unless it was aimed at her. Ice was her true weakness for the fact she was half fire demon hybrid.
So here she was struggling with her blindness climbing up the side of a mountain she was sure had the grate source of heat at the top. Why she climbed instead of walking up the path was she had more chance of falling of then she did falling of the side when her talons cut so nicely through rock. She was also getting colder the closer to the top she got; her internal heat could keep her warm for so long. Any other being may have frozen to death by now.

The great source of heat at the top of the mountain was none other then Tadkal himself. One question still lingered in his presence here. Why was he back here in the first place? Well simply put, even though he hadn’t finished his goals, he returned for a visit. Being homesick was a terrible thing to him, he couldn’t stand missing the clear night skies that his home had.
Shortly after his arrival here, a few days earlier, he had visited his father. Genji and him enjoyed a evening of stories and reminiscing. Though Genji looked to be in good health, he was getting pretty old and Tadkal knew it. Amidst the stories of his adventures, Tadkal always kept remembering one book that could extend the life of a aging dragon. If that book existed then so help him he’ll get it.
Awaken from his nap, Tadkal couldn’t help, but noticed someone or something was coming. It was odd since only he lived up so high on the mountain. Acutally he was on top of the mountain itself. The top of the mountain was blasted away by his parents (deceased) making a nest there.
Walking over to one of the edges, Tadkal arching his long neck over. His golden eyes scanning the wall of the mountain and spotted a neko climbing up. This neko was different from Kaite. First off this Neko was obviously a female and two she seemed to be blind.
“Why is a blind person climbing up here? She could fall..” he murmured to himself before committing himself to help her. Gently he flapped down to a nearby ridge, that over looked her slightly. The silver dragon arched his long neck out to her. With his mouth, he would grab her shirt with it before lifting her up completely from the mountain wall.

The first thing she noted was the source of heat was moving and the second was it was close to her now. Not one for being slow she tried to move away but the cold had finally wormed its way across her skin and she was ice cold. Her talon hands shifted back into normal human like hands apart from the slightly long nails most Neko’s had. The last thing she noticed before she lost conciseness was she was begging to fall when something grabbed the back of her shirt.

Now the neko was dangling from Tadkal’s mouth. Her body seemed limp like a like a ragdoll. Actually in all size comparison to him, she was ragdoll. The dragon gave her a questioning look, but decided that question can wait for a safer location. His large white wings gave a few flaps and he was up and flying hard. It only took a few minutes before he was from the ridge and already back at the nest.
Much like other dragon, he laid her down in the center of the nest like some prize. Most dragon actually captured other being and took them as personal prizes and slaves. Tadkal over didn’t do such things, but in the subconscious of his mind he had a lingering feeling like he just won a prize.
The dragon after laying the neko down, began to nudge her with his snout hoping to awake her somehow. She was cold so maybe the warm heat from his nostrils could revive her.

The heat did indeed make her stir a little, her core heat was to say in the least recharging it heat. It was a few minutes before the Neko girl opened her blood red eyes. The ground was soft, she thought she must have been eaten and was most probably in some sort of hellish heaven. It was until she felt the huge heat sauce next to her and the fact very warm breath was hitting her face did she truly wake up.
“Who’s there…”
She sounded really weak but in fact she really was, the cold affected her that much she was now where near as strong as she was but if she had been full blood demon the cold would have killed her. ‘I still don’t like being weak’ was the though that ran through her fogy mind.

Tadkal nudged her again and saw that she was finally awake. Though she had her eyes opened he knew she blind. How? Simple most people no matter how brave would have freaked out by now seeing that they awoke to a large dragon. Keeping his golden eyes on her, he breathred on her again. His breath hot with the intent of warming her up.
Though she didn’t say anything, he knew she liked the heat. Possibly from the fact his heat seemed to be absorbed into her. “My name is Tadkal” he replied simply to her.

She murmured his name to herself and seemed content to stay where she was, she like the heat more that she would ever admit. What it was she would never know, it could be her demon side or both her Neko and demon side? Her brow creased in thought as she rolled it around in her mind. He deserved her name though; she didn’t know what he looked like but decided she didn’t care at the moment.

The dragon looked even more questioning at the neko, though he wondered why she was up here. Obviously there was more to her then it appeared if she could climb all the way up here. The dragon floded it’s large angelic wings back and lowered itself down on it’s underbelly. It’s body was up against her .The dragon’s long neck was arched around and rested on his tail so it encircled her.
“So what brings you to the dragon’s nest?” he asked trying to keep the questions simple knowing she was weak. The dragon didn’t seem like a dragon at all. His manner was well civilized and his tone seemed coy and serene.

Lexia felt the warmth enfold her and tried her best to stop what she hated most about her new life as a half Neko….Purring… She focused on answering the question.
“I’m drawn to heat….I have no idea why….when I passed the mountain I picked up a huge one and my body seemed to move on its own, I didn’t realise till I was half way up”

The dragon moved his large claws under hie chin, resting on them as he retracted the claws to smaller size. Carefully the dragon considered her words. So she was attracted to warmth. That was odd in itself and that combined with the fact that he kept sensing something from her. He didn’t know exactly what he was sensing from her, but it seemed to latent. Maybe even she didn’t realized that herself. “Well you should get some rest. It was luck that I found you before you fell.”
Seeing that she was blind, he decide to take advantage of this opportunity. Most people who say him as a dragon normally freaked out, but since she didn’t see him as a dragon this would be a good chance to talk to someone. He kept it so she didn’t touch him so she would be able to tell he was a dragon. “Here you should rest…” with his tail he dropped down a small pile of large feathers he shed earlier. The feathers forming a small bed at her feet.

Lexia smiled slightly and moved to where he said she should go and let a small purr out at the feeling of the feathers. She almost nodded off there and then but managed to resist it. Her tail uncurled from her waist where it normally staid when she was walking or doing anything so it didn’t get in the way. She rolled onto her front and let it sway in the air. Her fur never seemed to get dirty and the fact she did molt helped personal grooming matters as well.
“Thank you”
She really meant it when she said it, she did feel like the cold hearted monster she could be in the presence of what ever he was, for that matter she didn’t care what he was.

Normally he was considered a monster. That statement was a fallacy. Most dragon were considered temperamental and violent, but there were always some that were not. He was one of them or else he would ate her already or made her a slave of sorts. Such false premises had cursed all his life. Though most feared him, they had no real reason to. He was friendly, caring, and rather kindhearted.
“I try to preserve what kindness is left in the world.” He said to her simply, his lips tugged into a smile well as best a dragon could smile. The warmth from his body encircling her should be enough to keep her nice and toast at the cold mountain top. Not to mention the warm and soft bed of feathers he had made for her.

It did not take very long for Lexia to drift of into sleep on the soft bed she had been given. Her tail still moved about from time to time with her endless dreams. One such dream had become so real.
*Dream*
Lexia was in her full demon form, She was about 10 foot tall her skin was completely black. Her hands and feet were talons that could shred through anything. She had a long thick tail that swayed on the floor. From her back two very large Demonic wings came but at the moment they were caped over her form and looked much more like well a black cape. Her hair was a living flame and was only held back by the horns that came from her head just after her hair line.
Her eyes were a blazing red and her breath was very hot and seemed to be almost red when she breathed out. Next to her was her Brother, the men of there kind were only slightly larger than the females but her brother was a lot taller then her.
They were both in front of there father who stood at least 15 foot, they them self were only kids and not full grown yet. Her mother had been the one of royal blood and Lexia was the next in line for her crown. This is why she thought her father hated her so much he wanted her brother to be the one but only Females were allowed to rule this part of the underworld.
“Have you both finished the tasks I gave you?”
Lexia tried not to snarl, they had been too hard for her and she could not complete the last one. The way her father looked at her she knew he knew that. Her brother stated they were too easy and needed to be harder so he could really test himself. This just made Lexia’s eyes burn more, her brother was a good 50 years older than her but it seemed not to matter to there Father.
“No Father…the last task was…difficult for me…”
Her father rose and back handed her across the face which sent her to the floor. She did not rise for she knew he would do it agene if she did.
“It was not too hard for your brother……As next in line for the crown you should be doing ‘better’ than him not worse…..I’ve told your mother countless times a male should take the crown just this once for the female line today is weak”
Lexia rose and look at her father defiantly, her blackish red blood dripping down her chin onto the floor only set her father of more. He pulled his hand back ready to punch her and Lexia close her eyes ready for the blow.
“WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS”
Lexia sighed with relief at her mother’s voice her father began to walk past her but hissed at her before he passed.
“We are not finished girl…”
*End*
Lexia woke up with a start the Feathers around her form where smoldering, for her body heat had shot through the roof and her hair was the living flame it had been in the dream but more wild and untamed. She then noticed she was coved in sweat as well.

The dragon watched her fell asleep and found himself content merely reading one of his normal arcane books. This one told of the ear before humanity. Very interesting though most of it was considered mythology. Carefully his golden eyes scanned each word as he delicately turned each page with the tip of his long claws. He was so caught up in reading that he forgot all about her, save till something ran into his mind that she was having a nightmare. Her body was burning severely, sweat glisten on her. However the feathers were not affected much and neither was he. Being a dragon he designed for the extremes of conditions and weather.
Then the blind neko would feel a soothing breeze pass her followed by a equally soothing voice. “My must have been some nightmare you have.” The dragon said to her though not asking about her dreams, not wanting to pry. The dragon then plucked up a few feathers and some twigs. What on earth was he doing? “don’t worry, dreams like that are sure to pass… just go back to sleep”

Lexia started to breathe normally and her eyes shut agene as she almost drifted off to sleep but the dream kept playing across her mind. That had happened almost 1,500 years ago why was she dreaming of that.
Her Father was a very cruel Demon, even to his own family but never to his son. This made her hate them both with white hot fury. Lexia calmed her breathing and felt her hair go back to normal and her body heat drop enough for her to slip into a dreamless sleep.
