Escape (Tadkal)

Naida sat at the water's edge, stroking his long tailfin. He smiled softly at the peacefulness of this place. It was shrouded in secret- a perfect place that he could go to escape from his reality. "So peaceful here..." he whispered aloud. Even in his original form, he could breathe in air- as long as he was partially submerged in the water. His lungs breathed in the icy cold air, his eyes followed the every movement that he could see.
"Mmm?" Naida looked up from the necklace he had been making. He could have sworn he heard something. The young prince looked around cautiously, but slowly relaxed, figuring his was imagining things. "I should be more careful..."

Those were Tadkal’s own thoughts. This was a peaceful place and he loved it here so far. The waters were so cool and the sky so clear. The dragon was drifting off to sleep slowly in the water what gently beat upon his scales. His deep, but soft voice humming slightly completely unaware or uncaring of anyone around him.
Today had been a good day for him, he had managed to snag the 4 first edition copies of the Sebek scrolls. Each scroll containing a variety of lost spells and stories. Only after reading one he need to practice the spells later, but he was more entranced by the stories.
Lazily drifting along the water, he used his long tail to move himself across the water. Turning a embankment he would have came into view now the other being there.

Naida saw the giant silver dragon and his eyes widened. He had not meant to intrude upon a dragon's territory- of all species. He gulped in, trying to be as still as possible. He was scared senseless- wanting to get out of this inevitable predicament. "This is ... not good." he whispered, moving some hair for his eyes and scooting back, crying out as a rock tore into his tender scales.
"I should have never came this close to shore." he looked at the thin streams of blood starting to surround his body. His tail was the most tender part on him, so he felt as if he were going to die- just right there. "Hurts..." he cried softly, forgetting about the dragon.

The dragon came to a stop and his snout sniffed the air a few times, taking in the scent of blood. “I smell blood…” the dragon said slowly and turned about to find the source of the blood. Expecting a dead fish or some kind of killed prey, the dragon instead found a merfok near the shore and injured. It was odd to find a merfolk here especially so close to shore. It seemed that the rocks in the shallow waters had been the cause of the injuries.
The dragon curious now swam over to the little merfok. The merfolk was tiny be comparison, the dragon could have easily ate him in one bite. Now the dragon moved so it was close to the merfolk very close indeed, it’s large golden eyes boring down on the injured creature as it’s mouth started to open so slowly showing off it’s large fangs.

Naida saw the dragon swimming towards him. This was not going to be good- not at all. "P-please don't eat me..." Naida whimpered and covered his face with his hands. So, this is why his father told him not to get so close to the shore... he had warned him, afterall. "Mmm..." he tried not to look at the dragon. "I want to live! I can find you something else to eat!"
The poor little fish anthro was panicking. He had started sobbing uncontrollably in his fright. This was definately not a good way to spend a morning...

The dragon did something that was both expected and unexpected. Tilted his head to the side the dragon actually started to close his mouth around the fish anthro. It seemed the poor fish had meet it’s end being a dragon’s breakfast, but that was not the clase. The dragon’s long tongue would wrap around the fish keeping it safe from the fangs as the dragon planned to carry the fish in it’s mouth to the shore. Maybe the dragon liked to eat it’s breakfast on the shore? Or preferred to cook it’s meals?

Naida started to cry, his tail flailing helplessly in the air as it seemed this dragon wanted to carry him to shore- where he would surely die unless he allowed himself to develop legs, in which case he couldn't even run from the dragon to keep himself safe. He was not at all strong. "Please..." he whispered in desperation. "Don't eat me..."
The young fish looked around as he was now high in the air. He almost screamed, but he couldn't find his voice. Well, once on shore- he would turn into his 2nd form again. Atleast he could prolong his life a little while longer.

The dragon kept lumbering onto the shore with the failing fish in his mouth. The bitter metallic taste of blood was lingering on his tongue, and to some degree as all dragon he liked the taste. The dragon golden eyes searched for a spot to set the fish and maybe meal down. Suddenly the dragon found such a spot in a small clearing on a inlet just jutting out into the lagoon a bit.
There on that inlet he gently set the fish down on the soft grass and coiled his head back. It seemed now that dragon was going to eat him, but the dragon wasn’t. The dragon instincivtly started to use his tongue to lick the wound. He wasn’t all that scary now, he seemed gentle if not kind hearted, just trying to help the fish instead of eating it.

Naida could barely move. He didn't want his life to end like this- if he could just get back to the water... he could dive back into his city and blend in with the others... He could hide and never come back to this place again.
Naida whimpered as the wound was licked. Being on land would kill him. His fins began to grow into legs. "Please..." the wound was in the back of his leg now instead, and not as deep as it was with his fins. "Please don't eat me... Please..." he cried softly.

The dragon seeing as how the fish was so scared of him decided to assume a more suitable form for this situation. Slowly the tail and neck shrunk at first along with his size. The wings shrunk proportionally as well, till he was standing on two feet about 6 feet in height. The scales melded into skin and soon he was in his second form, his humanish angel form. “I’m not going to eat you don’t worry, I just want to treat your wound.” He stated simply and with gentle hand raised the leg to examine the wound, his wings folding back over his naked body. The dragon now more like angel, scanned the wound closely with his golden eyes.

Aoi watch as the dragon turned into a man. She was following the prince spying on the man she had affections for. Not many would go this far but Aoi as a testimony of her love. Aoi had been following Naida for most of the day injuring herself in the process She held her arm trying to stop the pain of it being dislocated. Aoi was starting to sufficate now she was too far away from the water. She force her tail into legs and dug with one arm at the base of a plant it only took a few seconds for water to be found. She used her arm to dig a trench her size and sat in it allowing the water to flow over her. Suddenly she heard a noise as if something was coming towards her. She laid still as if her stillness would allow her to blend in to the surroundings.
