There was only silence in the large main chamber of the temple, the only light coming from the moon outside. The large doors opened quietly, the silence left unbroken as a figure cloaked in shadows entered.

Pushing back his hood Shadi's gaze travelled around the empty temple, his ears pressed flat against his head. Moving slowly he enter farther into the sacred place, her feet carrying him towards the alter, stopping only a short distance away from it. A soft sigh escaped the neko-jin's lips as he removed his cloak, letting it flutter to the ground followed by the loose cotton shirt he wore. In the moonlight his skin glowed a soft broze, smooth except for a single, jagged line that ran from his shoulder to the opposite hip, pale scar glowing silver.

Falling to his knees the young cat began to pray, his fingers gripping the edge of the alter, forehead resting against it as he whispered softly. "Beloved Goddess why did you choose to abandon me? What mistake did I make that you would not only give me the form of a cursed one, but that you would also take the only ones who cared for me away?" A sob echoed across the marble chamber, Shadi's shoulders shook violently, knuckles turning white as they gripped the edge of the alter tightly, as though he would dissapear if he did so...

He hovered just beyong the stream of light, taking comfort in the solidarity of shadows that lost their menace in this holy place, crimson eyes fixated on the alter and the kneeling figure, a soft frown shading across his features. Tumultuous locks managed their way in velvet ribbons against his flesh and for a moment he was content to watch the sobbing creature.

However even that task grew arduous and with maintained silence he stepped forward, leaving his alcove for the center of the hold site. Dimmly his horn caught the light, harnessing it betwixt the oscilating colors, merging it with a grey spindle.

"The will of the Goddess is not meant for us to understand." He stated softly, his words, despite the calmness with which they were spoken, were perverted on his lips- tainted and altered into frozen droplets ringing with only the hinting of reverence.

Shadi began to pray silently to the Goddess until he was startled by another occupant of the temple. The young cat spun around when he heard someone behind him speak, he pressed his back against the alter as he stared at the stranger with narrow, amber eyes.

"Who are you? Where did you come from?" His voice trailed off slightly as he bent down and grabbed his shirt and cloak. His ears pressed down flatter to his head as he looked the other over, distrust filling his gaze. The young neko-jin was always careful when it came to dealing with others, but there was something strange about this furre...he had never seen one like him before...

He had no care to answer the first question, but the second he deigned to answer. "I came from the entrance." Drolly, his words were carefully uttered, mildly ominous though a pointed smile played upon his lips.

Crimson eyes flashed briefly as he stepped forward, smooth combed tail brushing against his calves. "..." He merely stared at the other furre.

Shadi tried to step back as the other stepped forward, but found his retreat was blocked by the alter. "Who are you?" He repeated his question again, softly, trying to keep the temble in his voice from being heard.

His words were cold, his smile just the same, "What are you doing here at this hour of the night?" He questioned, eyeing the other suspiciously.

"I am doing here what most do good sir." He offered in alterating truth and mock respect. "I came to pray." Though that was not the case, he had been wandering and the temple was always a pleasant establishment.

Crimson eyes blazed briefly, alighting from their depths before the shadow failed and they were nothing more then a veiled respect.

"I could ask the same for you."

Shadi slipped his shirt back on, his hair becoming ruffled and gaining an unkempt look as the material was pulled over his head. He sighed softly, "I came to pray as well...I prefer to come when many have already left." He voice echoed in the large chamber, "I do not like to be around many others..."

He nodded, his own feelings about being with others mirroring the one's before him and his gaze flashed delicately as he sidestepped, giving the other a chance to exit were he inclined to, but not enough to allow him clear passage. Either way he would have to move slightly closer to Oisin.

Languidly his gaze turned back towards the alter, his head inclining briefly to the offeratory front.

"And do you believe she can understand you?" He questioned stolidly, carefully, not wishing to offend the other's faith but curious none-the-less.

Shadi shook his head sadly, "No...I pray because for a moment I think there is reason to everything, that there is meaning behind everything that happens." He ran his fingers over the velvet cover alter, "Sometimes I wish I could get an answer..."

Oisin nodded slightly, understanding the other's words. "Answers would be nice but should never be expected." His words had softened somewhat, lessened in their coldness as he offered that reply, but those eyes were still darkly glinted off the flickering light.

"You haven't told me your name yet sir." Shadi said, slipping back on his cloak, pully the hood slightly up, his ears still showing beneath it. The young cat sat down on the steps that led up to the alter, still wary, but a bit more open to the stranger...he did not seem to pose a threat, he, like Shadi had come to the temple to pray.

"And what manner of furre are you...I have never seen one like you before." He added. In truth he had not seen many furres, having been locked up for so long gave him limited knowledge about the outside world.
